These Terms and Conditions apply to all products and services offered by Lauren Faith Art, including commissioned portraits and ready-made items available for purchase in my shop. By using this website and/or placing an order, you agree to the following terms:
Copyright & Ownership
All artwork created by Lauren Faith Art remains the intellectual property of the artist. The purchase of any painting, print, or commissioned portrait does not transfer copyright ownership.
Lauren Faith Art retains full copyright and all reproduction rights for every artwork produced, including commissioned pieces. This includes the right to display, reproduce, and use images of the work for portfolio purposes, website content, social media, marketing, exhibitions, and printed materials, unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to completion.
The buyer owns the physical artwork only. Buyers may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, resell copies of, or commercially use the artwork or its image in any form without prior written permission from Lauren Faith Art.
Any commercial usage rights, licensing arrangements, or full copyright transfer must be agreed separately in writing and may be subject to an additional fee.
Commissioned Portraits
Booking & Payment
- A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost is required to book your commission slot.
- The final balance is due upon completion and approval, before the painting is shipped.
Artwork will not begin until a deposit has been received.
Processing Time
- Commissions typically take 2 to 4 weeks, but this may vary depending on size, complexity, and my current workload. Your estimated timeline will be confirmed before I begin.
- Additional time may be needed due to the medium or painting process
Approval & Revisions
I will send a clear image of the finished painting for approval before shipping. Minor edits can be requested at this stage. Major changes may incur an additional fee.
Cancellations & Refunds
- You may cancel your order before I begin work for a full refund.
- Once I’ve started the painting, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
- After completion, no refunds are accepted, unless the item is damaged or lost in transit.
Ready-Made Shop Orders (Originals & Prints)
When available, I offer a selection of original paintings and high-quality prints for direct purchase through my shop.
Payment & Order Processing
- Full payment is required at checkout for ready-made items.
- Orders are usually processed and dispatched within 2 business days, unless otherwise stated.
Returns & Exchanges (Ready-Made Items Only)
Due to the nature of original artwork, returns are generally not accepted unless your item arrives damaged or there has been a clear error in the listing (e.g. incorrect size or description).
If you’re unhappy with your purchase, please contact me within 7 days of delivery and I’ll do my best to find a solution.
- If a return is approved, the item must be returned in its original condition and packaging within 14 days.
- Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility unless the return is due to an error not made by the buyer.
Please note: Returns and exchanges are not accepted for commissioned or custom-made items under any circumstances.
Shipping
- All orders are shipped using tracked and insured services.
- Delivery times vary by location. Full details are available in my Shipping Policy.
- Please ensure that your shipping address is accurate, as I cannot be held responsible for delays or lost packages due to incorrect information.
Customs & Import Fees
If you are ordering from outside the UK, your country may charge customs duties, VAT, or handling fees. These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost and are the buyer’s responsibility.
I recommend checking with your local customs office before placing an order if you’re unsure.
Damaged or Lost Items
If your order is damaged or lost during shipping:
- Contact me within 48 hours of delivery (or expected delivery)
- Include clear photos of any damage (to the packaging and/or artwork)
I’ll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, whether through a refund, replacement, or compensation claim.
Changes to Terms
Lauren Faith Art reserves the right to update or change these terms at any time.
